C.B. & Potts Brew honored at 13th Annual North American Beer Awards
C.B.& Potts Restaurant and Brewery was recognized by the North American Brewers’ Association at their 13th annual beer awards in Idaho Falls, Idaho on June 5, 2009. Ram International, who owns Potts’ received more awards than any other craft brewing company in the competition with 9 medals for their hand-crafted beers from Colorado, Washington, Idaho, and Oregon.
The family owned and operated company was awarded gold medals for three brews including the “Hell’s Bock” brewed at C.B. & Potts Restaurant in Fort Collins, CO, the “Slam Dunkel Bock” brewed in Salem, Oregon, and the “Bottlerocket Lager” brewed in Boise, Idaho.
Kirk Lombardi, head brewer for C.B. & Potts Restaurant in Fort Collins, CO and Regional brew master for Colorado describes the “Hell’s Bock” brew as a strong, golden, German style lager. Kirk has previously won several medals with this brew and said “it felt good to win gold with it at the NABA. After wining I sat down, drank a Hell’ Bock” and was one happy guy.”
Silver medals were awarded to three Ram Brews; the “Big Horn Blonde” from Lakewood, WA, the “Big Horn Hefeweizen” from the Northgate location in Seattle, WA, and the “Bus Stop Brown” from Salem, Ore.
Bronze medals were awarded to “Azreals Castle” from C.B.& Potts in Denver, CO, “Uber Dunkel 2009” from Puyallup, WA, and “Dubbel Barrel Belgian Ale” from Boise, Idaho.
The North American Beer Awards were held June 2-5, 2009 and awarded medals to the best beers from over 1,100 entries in 72 categories. The judges are professional brewers and certified beer judges who evaluate samples over four days in blind tastings.
